Malachi Green (born November 29, 2003), professionally known as Yung Kayo, is an American recording artist from Washington, D.C., and based in Los Angeles, California.
Kayo began his music career in 2017 as a member of DMV group 40 Boyz. After meeting Bloody Dior and signing to his label, sevensevenseven, he began to release singles that would garner a cosign from Young Thug in 2019.
After moving to Los Angeles in July 2019, Kayo started production of his debut album. Later that year he released two EPs: Sweet16 and a SoundCloud exclusive EP, Happy Holidays.
On January 29, 2020, it was announced that Kayo had signed to Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life Records, even being featured twice on their label’s second album, Slime Language 2.
On February 4, 2022, after a near two-year delay, Kayo released his highly anticipated debut studio album, DFTK. It features many highly anticipated songs such as “iPic,” “YEET,” and more. The album contains features from Yeat, Gunna, and Eartheater.
Kayo’s music often features hard-hitting industrial hip-hop instrumentals, thanks to his go-to producer Warpstr. He also frequently works with the Working on Dying producer collective.
