Youth Of Today is a hardcore band formed in Danbury, Connecticut by Ray Cappo and John Porcelly in 1985. Along with their Revelation Records labelmates Gorilla Biscuits, Warzone, and Judge, they kickstarted the second wave of New York Hardcore and the “youth crew” movement. They were outspoken about their straight edge and vegetarian lifestyles, which vocalist Ray Cappo took to a new level when he became a Hare Krishna and started his next band, Shelter, creating a new subgenre that was dubbed “krishnacore.” After disbanding in 1990, they reunited in 2010 and play reunion shows from time to time.
