Soul/Retro-pop outfit “Youngtones” was born in 2017 at a recording session at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. Producer Matt Young and Luke wrote their first song in the throwback genre in about an hour. The result was something different from Matt’s typical pop centric productions and Luke’s more singer/songwriter influenced releases. Pulling inspiration from their favorite Soul and R&B records of the 60’s and 70’s and the sights and sounds of their east and west coast cities, they’ve created something distinctively different.
