Rapping as a craft might still be a fairly new genre in Pakistan and Young Desi (named Mufassir at birth in 1994) wants to change that. Soon after his family moved to Faislabad in 2009, Young Desi started recording his rap on a microphone that was worth 150 rupees.
While imitating his inspirations like Bohemia, G-Unit, Snoop Dogg and West Coast hip-hop artists – Young Desi brought his own vibe infused with Punjabi culture to create a brand of street rap threaded together with desi sensibilities.
A few underground songs that blew up on the internet put Desi on the map in 2010. It was in 2016, when ten rap artists from across the globe came together on a track, ‘Gametime’ produced by Bohemia – where Young Desi truly arrived.
The most popular song by Young Desi's is Rap Hai Saara
Young Desi's first song Rap Hai Saara released on Fri Aug 10 2018.
