Yngwie (pronounced ing-vay) Johan Malmsteen is a talented Swedish guitarist best known for his neo-classical style of metal. He released his first solo album, Rising Force, which won the Guitar Player Magazine’s award for Best Rock Album and was nominated for a Grammy for ‘Best Rock Instrumental’. He played for the bands Steeler and Alcatrazz. His current lineup consists of himself, Nick Marino (keyboard), Emilio Martinez (bass) and Brian Wilson (drums).
