Los Angeles native Willa Amai is a singer and songwriter of down-to-earth pop songs who made a fast fan and advocate in famed songwriter/producer Linda Perry when she was only 12. Amai had begun writing songs at the age of nine after a favorite teacher piqued her interest in poetry. When she had the opportunity to meet Perry and play an original song for her in December of 2016, Perry responded by offering to work with her in the studio. In 2017, Amai recorded a warmer cover of Daft Punk’s “Harder Better Faster Stronger” for a TV commercial by software company Intuit. Later that year, her song “Scars” was featured on the compilation Served Like a Girl: Music from and Inspired by the Documentary Film.
