Producing since the age of 12, Whit Kane, also known as, “AyoWhit” prides himself on being a more than just a beatmaker. Whit is a producer, songwriter, and DJ that puts himself in the artists shoes during every studio session. This is in large part due to his upbringing as the son of the lead singer of a South Carolina band called “The Ferns.” Whit has an organic feel for music, he’s written songs, recorded melodies, and been involved in every part of song-making from scratch.
Whit’s musical versatility also extends to the type of music he can produce. Growing up, Whit moved throughout the Southeast and was influenced by numerous cultures and backgrounds. Over the years he developed a natural feel for indie, pop, EDM, R&B and hip-hop subgenres such as trap, drill, Detroit and West Coast-style rap among others. Despite moving around during his childhood, Whit proudly identifies with his roots in the Carolinas and currently resides in Raleigh.
Not only is Whit a versatile musician, but a versatile person. The 21-year old is a former D1 college athlete, small business owner, high school coach and travel DJ for the LA-based group, Us The Duo. Whit’s end goal is to be a major player in the music industry. He took the first step in achieving that goal in February 2023 by launching his own label called HITFIELD, a nod to his middle name “Whitfield.”
