Born in Jeonju-Si, South Korea, 정휘인 (Jung Whee In), known professionally as Whee In, is a singer-songwriter and dancer under THE L1VE LABEL. She debuted as a soloist on April 17, 2018 with the digital single “Easy”.
Whee In began her career under RBW with South Korean girl group, MAMAMOO. In MAMAMOO Whee In was positioned as a vocalist and dancer. The group had debuted on June 18th, 2014 with “Mr. 애매모호 (Mr. Ambiguous)”.
Later on, in 2021, 2 years after her solo debut, Whee In continued her solo career with a full-album, Redd. It gained fame after the official English version of “water color” saw commercial success during a time when English releases were slowly rising in the K-pop music industry.
By the end of 2021, MAMAMOO reached the end of their contract with RBW, and it was officially announced that Whee In would be departing from RBW Entertainment. The group then chose to focus more on the solo projects for each member. Later, in August of the same year, Whee In signed an exclusive contract to THE L1VE, the label of VIXX member RAVI.
Whee In then released her own album under THE L1VE, WHEE, named after her stage name.
