He also played for the Black Coalition under the direction of Reverend J. C. Williams. He formed a group called Unity which made an appearance on the Bobby Jones television show. During his latter years in Muncie, he served as the Minister of Music for Word of Life Christian Church.
While a student at Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wayne played for the Rhema Singers and Band. While in Tulsa, he also played for Kenneth Hagin Ministries and traveled with him throughout the United States from 1987 to 1991.

He also served as the Minister of Music for Bill Winston at Living Word Christian Church in Oak Park, Illinois; Family Life Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and Family Worship Center in Lakeland, Florida.
Wayne composed and arranged music for many groups and gospel recording artists. A few songs he penned are “I Will Move Up Higher” and “When Will I Stop Loving God?”
