Wayne Carson (May 31, 1943 – July 20, 2015) was an American country musician, songwriter and record producer. He’s mostly known for his success as a writer for artists such as The Box Tops, for who he wrote songs like “The Letter,” “Neon Rainbow” and “Soul Deep”.
Plus, he held a pivotal role in the composition of “Always on My Mind,” covered by plenty of music stars: for example, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Michael Bublé and The Pet Shop Boys.
