Grammy-nominated New Yorker Warren Schatz is a musical renaissance man. Having worked with big-name artists in the U.S. and abroad, with successful forays as an artist in Finland and Sweden, he became a bona fide 1970s rock star in Eastern Europe. Two hit albums and non-stop touring didn’t stop him from producing records, notably for Jukka Kuoppamaki whose releases spanned a variety of countries and major labels.
In the U.S., he has composed, produced, arranged, and conducted orchestras for renowned artists such as Frankie Valli, Revelation, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Gordon Grody, and Dolly Parton, to name a few.
Working for RCA, he signed Vicki Sue Robinson and produced their smash hit “Turn The Beat Around”. RCA/NBC tapped Schatz to be the on-air audio engineer for SNL’s first season.
His classical work includes releases such as “What If Mozart Wrote ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’”.
Having worked for a variety of major labels in various capacities, he continues to create, produce, conduct, write, arrange, mix, master, and pioneer for artists (and for fun) in NYC. He’s also the Executive VP at Penalty Entertainment, the classic Hip-Hop label relaunched by Neil Levine.
