A fresh face on the Lagos scene, WANI conjures up musical memories from his childhood in Nigeria alongside later forays to the UK and Chicago―all moulded into a supple, cosmopolitan cocktail of sounds. Across six songs, his debut EP Lagos City Vice synthesises diverse influences snaking through Afropop, Afrobeats, dancehall and contemporary R&B, sprinkled with echoes of the ‘00s and crowned by WANI’s warm, resonating vocals.
