Blending a style of r&b, hip-hop, and pop, teenage cousins Kelci and Taylah P. shook up the music scene in 2009 with their eclectic style.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Vistoso Bosses grew up around music due to their parents’ ties to the industry. They were exposed to music production early on, and began making their own music around the age of 14 with their homemade studio.
Vistoso means colorful, delightful, and gorgeous. The group came up with their name after jotting down a list of words that describe themselves. Not feeling comfortable with naming their group “Gorgeous,” Taylah P translated the word into Spanish and got “vistoso.” “Bosses” was added to the end of “Vistoso” because of their desire to take charge of their careers and be bosses.
With ties to the music industry, Vistoso Bosses connected with producer/writer, St. James, in late 2008. “Delirious” was the first song St. James played for Vistoso Bosses, and they loved how the song matched their sound. After recording the song, they were signed the same night as the first female group to Collipark Interscope. “Delirious” quickly became a hit, earning over 1M plays on MySpace with 10M+ views on YouTube.
Vistoso bosses made it clear that being positive can be cool. Anyone can have fun without without feeling pressured to stray away from who they are inside.
