The experimental heavy rock band V.I.C (Villagers of Ioannina City) comes from the mountains of Epirus – Greece. Their unique sound fuses traditional music into heavy psychedelic rock. The band uses a wide range of instruments, such as low tuned guitars and bass, hammond and rhodes, along with traditional instruments such as clarinet, bagpipe, kaval, didjeridoo and many others.
They formed in 2007 and since then they had played in the biggest festivals in Greece and in a numerous of sold out shows in the bigest venues of the country with a highlight their sold out show in Athens 2015 with more than 6000 attendance. In their first European tour (Oct-Nov 2015) they performed live in 20 cities such as Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona among others. In 2016 they did some mini tours in EU again including festivals such as Freak Valley and Leafmeal fest in Dortmund.
Their debut full length album “RIZA” (Mantra Records – April 2014) enjoyed universal acceptance by critics and audiences, received lots of excellent reviews not only from Greece but from all over the world also, named by many as Album of the year. Currently they are recording their long awaited new album “Age of Aquarius”
