Victorian Halls is a three piece Experimental Pop/Alternative Rock band out of Chicago, Illinois formed in 2006. While forming much earlier, the band didn’t exactly gain much notoriety until around 2011 when they signed with Victory Records. They gained more attention after their song “So Ambitious” was remixed by GDM that appeared in the video game “Watch Dogs”. Despite the promotion the band failed to break through into any mainstream success, and not much has been heard from them after their debut album, “Charlatan” (2011) and their follow up “Hyperalgesia” (2015).
The band is fronted by Sean Lenart alongside Jordan Dismuke and Mike Tomala and their style is often described as a sound that combine the Post-Hardcore, and Post-Punk experimentation of that of The Blood Brothers or Mindless Self Indulgence along with more Dance style Pop and Electronica though many have a hard time categorizing them unto any particular genre.
I think with our first record, people were almost confused as to what genre to peg us, and whether or not we were a hardcore band. Short answer: we are not a hardcore band. We love heavier music, but it’s not where we are.“ -Sean Lenart (Via Victory Records Website)

As a number of enthusiasts have pointed out, there are currently more pop-music genres than there are artists to occupy them. Whether such a sneering jab is true, the slotting of acts into ready-made categories has always been a vice of critics and fans.
