About Vicky Nhung

Vicky Nhung was born as Thị Hồng Nhung Nguyễn on November 19, 1987 in Hà Nội, Việt Nam (Vicky is also nicknamed Chepa).

She is known in her home country for her talent in composing, rapping, singing on top of her tomboy looks. In 2015, she auditioned for The Voice Vietnam with Jessie J’s “Nobody’s Perfect” and was among the few who had all four judges turn around for her in the blind auditions. On the show, she took risks by performing her own mashups – which are uploaded to her YouTube channel (opened in 2010), and nearly made it to finals before making a huge decision to sacrifice herself by leaving the show and giving up her spot to someone else; she said that she only joined the show to see how far she’d go and to gain fans and support along the way. She was mentored by Đàm Vĩnh Hưng.

In late November 2015, she made an announcement on her Facebook about her major debut with the single “Nói Đi Mà”, which was released on December 3, 2015. Since then, she consistently released music until 2016, when she took a break traveling Vietnam – this would later result in the major comeback release of her 2017 single “Việt Nam Những Chuyến Đi” which is an ode to her home country of Vietnam.

She lovingly calls her fans Vickers, but, has not used the term from 2018-2019.
