About Veruca Salt

Veruca Salt is an alternative band formed in 1992 with frontwomen Louise Post (Lead Guitar), Nina Gordon (Rhythm Guitar), Steve Lack (Bass) and Gordon’s brother, Jim Shapiro (Drums). In 1994, They released the single “Seether/All Hail Me” which gained massive success. The single peaked at 8 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks. They toured alongside Hole that year, and released their debut, American Thighs, through Minty Fresh Records.

In 1997, through Geffen Records, they released their sophomore album Eight Arms To Hold You. Soon after the release, Shapiro left the band, and was replaced by Stacy Jones of Letters To Cleo. In 1998, Gordon left the band to pursue her solo music career. Thereafter, Post released 2 albums under Veruca Salt called Resolver, in 2000 and IV, in 2006. On March 14, 2012, the band declared they were going on an official hiatus. On March 15, 2013, the band announced the reunion of its original line-up, and that they might release some new material. On May 19, 2015, Veruca Salt’s original lineup respectively released Ghost Notes, and are still active.
