Hansol Vernon Chwe (born on Feb. 18, 1998 in New York), mononymously known as Vernon (버논) is a South Korean-American rapper, lyricist, composer, dancer, singer and a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN along with its hip-hop team.
Vernon was casted by Pledis Entertainment in early 2010s and initially was set to debut as a vocalist but ultimately became a rapper. Moreover, he trained in the company for three years until he became a part of SEVENTEEN, who made their official debut on May 26, 2015.
Just behind fellow member WOOZI, Vernon is the second member of the group with the most songs credited under his name, as well as one of the youngest idols in the Korean pop industry. He also released multiple solo songs on SEVENTEEN’s official Soundcloud account, including “Lotto” and collaborated with a number of artists, including Tobi Lou and Tiger JK. Additionally, his first mixtape, “Black Eye” seen its daylight on December 23, 2022.
In January 2024, he was promoted to a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
