Vanessa Vanjie Mateo is the stage name of Jose Cancel, an American drag performer and contestant on the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Vanessa is most known for her Miss Vanjie moment at her elimination, when exiting the stage, she backed away and said her name three times in different tempos: “Miss Vanjie…Miss Vanjie…Miss…Vanjie…”, which led to the creation of a popular Internet meme.
