Valley is an indie pop band from Toronto, formed by two bands who were accidentally double-booked for studio time. The band consists of Rob Laska (vocals), Michael Brandolino (guitar), Alex DiMauro (bass) and Karah James (drums). The group named themselves “Valley” because of the word’s symmetry, and the fact it “looked nice on paper,”
In 2015, the four-piece released a six-track EP, titled Car Test. This EP and all its tracks are no longer available to stream or purchase
The lead single for This Room Is White, “Swim” was dropped in April 2016 and was featured on Spotify’s United States Viral 50 playlist not long after. The track amassed over a million streams on Spotify by the time it was a year old.
This Room Is White continued this popularity when it was released in mid-2016, gaining a Top 20 placement on Spotify’s coveted U.S. and Global Viral 50 playlists.
In 2018, the band released MAYBE – Side A, an EP that included earlier singles “Closer To The Picture” and “Push For Yellow (Shelter).”
MAYBE – Side B, the second installation of the MAYBE project was released in 2019, following singles “A Phone Call In Amsterdam” and “Park Bench.”
VALLEY signed a full recording contract with Universal Music Canada in 2017.
VALLEY has toured with Lennon Stella, and The Band CAMINO. They joined lovelytheband on a full North American tour after the pandemic.
