V9 is a UK drill artist hailing from Homerton, East London; he gained popularity through his tracks “Japan” and “Charged Up”. Despite his infatuation with Japan (hence his other nickname Homerton Sensei) and its culture which can be referenced in some of his tracks, many people assumed that he is Japanese—however an interview with V9 stated that he is actually Somalian.
Bringing his familiar Deadpool mask to song covers, videos and more, V9 dropped his first album Homerton Sensei in May 2019, with the stand-out tracks like “Low Cross” and “Japan 2.0” consolidating his position as one of the more violent drill rappers in the scene.
