About Ultra-Violence

Ultra-Violence is an Italian metal/electronic-rock band based in Turin, Italy. Their current members consist of Loris Castiglia (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Andrea Vacchiotti (lead guitar), Andrea Lorenti (Bass), and Francesco “Frullo” La Rosa (drums).

Formed in 2009 as teenagers, Ultra-Violence was originally a thrash metal band. After signing with Italian metal label Punishment 18 Records in 2012, they released their debut EP “Wildcrash” in the same year and their first album “Privilege To Overcome” one year later. The album globally received positive reception and was included in a large amount of magazines and websites as one of the best thrash metal albums of 2013. It led to them playing in various tours across Europe and eventually singing to English metal label Candlelight Records.

In 2015, The band released their 2nd studio album “Deflect The Flow”. In 2016, the band’s then bass player Roberto “Robba” Dimasi and drummer Simone Verre left the band. After creating their new line-up with Andrea Lorenti on bass and Francesco “Frullo” La Rosa on drums and several tours in Europe as well as one in Japan, the band released their third album “Operation Misdirection” in 2018.

In 2020, the band left their label, deciding to go it alone at that time as an indie band. During this time, the band was working on music with a new mindset and with the assistance of Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson of Bad Omens the band created their new sound. Taking a melodic metalcore and more electronic approach the band released their new EP “Beyond” with Joakim as a producer. However, many older fans didn’t like transition the band’s transition to a more mellow and metalcore sound. They expressed hate towards the band’s new style. On the release of their single “The End”, The band responded by saying,

THE END is our answer to all the hate we got since going independent and changing our style. We’ve been literally and cowardly coverd by insults and hate comments for doing something we have all the rights to do. You felt free to let us know how much we suck, that we sold out and that we should change our own name. Well, we had something to say about all that cause we work extremely hard and we’re incredibly proud of our latest releases, but we preferred to keep on writing new music and channel all our words and feelings into a song. We’ve been a band since 2009 and we never let anybody tell us what to do. This is us fighting back, but in our own way
