Type O Negative was a gothic/doom metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York, US in 1989. They are well known for their dry, morbid and ironic sense of humor, their often slow and brooding music, and frontman Peter Steele’s baritone voice. The band was actively touring and working on music until the death of Steele in 2010.
