Raised in the fiery cultural melting pot that is South Florida, it wasn’t hard for American rapper and multi-platinum singer-songwriter TxTHEWAY to find a unique perspective in the gritty and colorful world around him. Having discovered his love for music and poetry at an early age, a young TxTHEWAY used writing as a tool to make sense of himself in the chaos of everyday life.
A child of Jamaican immigrants, TxTHEWAY grew up in the largely Caribbean neighborhood of Fairway Park, referred to locally as “The Way.” This is where he honed his craft and derived his moniker (spoken as T By The Way). His Jamaican blood and Southern birth created in him a musical style that is influenced just as much by Reggae & Dancehall as it is by the South’s distinct flavors of Hip-Hop and R&B.
In recent years T has collaborated and written for a long list of musical acts including Black Coffee, David Guetta, KSHMR, Major Lazer, and Sublime with Rome. It was his 2017 collaboration with Wyclef Jean that really brought him to the spotlight as he was featured on the long awaited “Carnival III” LP and “Inspired By” mixtape under the name T-Baby. Wyclef Jean once tweeted that TxTHEWAY was “the future.”
In 2018 TxTHEWAY began releasing music independently through his label Zion House Music. His first release “Jump” grew quickly on SoundCloud and the music video subsequently was featured on Revolt TV. In 2019 he released the tracks “Enemies” and “Come From Nothing.”
TxTHEWAY's first song Jump released on Thu Jan 01 1970.
