Twin Hype was an American rap group from New Jersey. Made up of twin brothers Glennis Brown (the Sly) and Lennis Brown (Slick), born August 14, 1968.

The twins were joined by Jose Matos (DJ King Shameek) for their self-titled 1989 album and 1991 album Double Barrel.

The twins were born in South Carolina before moving to Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and eventually New Jersey.

Glennis and Lennis started rapping together in high school contests at the age of 15.

They released two albums: Twin Hype (1989) and Double Barrel (1991) with Profile Records.

Their first single “Do It To The Crowd” was their most successful song.

It peaked at number 10 on the US Dance Chart and number 69 on the UK Singles Chart.

On the US Dance Chart, “For Those Who Like to Groove” peaked at number eight.

In 1991, their hip-hop house single “Nothin' Could Save Ya” was released.
