triple j is a Australian radio station first launched in early 1975 that is known for its focus on Australian music and artists, both signed and independent. Annually, they host the triple j Hottest 100, a countdown of the previous year’s most popular songs as voted by more than 3 million listeners across the world. A selection of each year’s tracks are released on compilation CDs (and previously, DVDs) annually.
The triple j Live Music Team is responsible for the sound production of Live at the Wireless, which broadcasts recordings of live acts performing in Australia, and Like a Version, an increasingly popular weekly segment that sees artists perform an original and a cover. Like a Version compilation CDs are released annually by the station, while the videos attract hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube each Friday morning. The team is currently led by live music engineer Greg Wales, who has recorded Like a Version since 2007.
