About Trini Lopez

Trinidad Lopez III (1937-2020) was born to a Mexican immigrant musical family in Dallas. He formed his first band in Wichita Falls, Tex. at age 15, though his big break did not come until he moved to Los Angeles in 1962, where he quickly found an audience as a nightclub singer, where Frank Sinatra heard him and signed him to his label Reprise Records. His music career included songs in both English and Spanish, and branched into side careers as an actor and TV personality. He died of coronavirus complications.
