About Trịnh Công Sơn

A giant of Vietnamese pop music, Trịnh Công Sơn (1939-2001) was both a singer and a songwriter, who wrote both love songs and antiwar songs during the Vietnam War. The latter earned him comparisons to Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, and also landed him in trouble with the governments of both South Vietnam and a united Vietnam.
