About Travis

Scottish rock band Travis, composed of singer Fran Healy, bassist Dougie Payne, guitarist Andy Dunlop and drummer Neil Primrose, first emerged at the tail-end of Britpop with their 1997 debut album, Good Feeling, but the group are most widely recognised as one of the pioneering acts of the Post-Britpop scene with their chart-topping second album, The Man Who. The success of this album opened the door for artists like Coldplay, Snow Patrol and Keane to become international superstars in the 2000s.

The band’s next big release, The Invisible Band, continued in the same vein as its predecessor and was a similar success, yielding the #3 hit single, “Sing”. The Invisible Band, however, would be their last #1 album, as they began to drop in popularity; 2008’s Ode to J. Smith only just cracked the top 20, although the following two albums did at least make the top 10.
