Trang Pháp was born on January 25, 1989, as Nguyễn Phạm Thuỳ Trang in Hanoi, Vietnam to a father who was a lecturer, and a mother who was a diplomat. She is an actress, singer and songwriter in Vietnam. Her stage name Trang Pháp is a combination of her birth name, and “pháp” meaning France – an homage to the time she spent in France during her youth.
Thanks to her mother, Trang learned how to play the organ at a young age, which was where she began to indulge herself in music. At the age of 12, her family uprooted and moved all the way to Paris, France for three years before returning to her home country to begin her career in entertainment around the age of 17.
Trang reached stardom acting in 2007’s Vietnamese sitcom Vang Anh’s Diary and the sitcom Grandma Doesn’t Eat Pizza. Around this time, she was simply known as the “Hanoian hot girl”.
In 2012, she debuted as a singer with the album Run Away (Chạy Trốn). The album consists of 14 songs, which are self-composed.
Trang can speak Vietnamese, French as well as English.
