Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos, August 22, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and composer. She was the lead singer of an 80s pop group, Y Kant Tori Read, until she broke off and began her own solo career in the 1990s. The subjects of her music range from feminism to sexuality to religion.
Amos has received five MTV VMA nominations, eight Grammy nominations, and has won an Echo award for her classical work. She is also listed on VH1’s “100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll” list.
