Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj, better known by her stage name Tommy Genesis, is a Canadian rapper, model and visual artist from Vancouver. She is half-Swedish and half-Tamil. She graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design where she studied film and sculpture.

In 2015, she rose to prominence when she started working with Atlanta-based collective Awful Records, helmed by rapper Father, though she never directly signed to Awful’s roster.

In 2017, she signed a deal with New York-based independent label Downtown Records. Her self-titled debut album was released in late 2018, followed by a world-wide tour. Her sophomore album, goldilocks x, followed in September 2021.

Besides her solo releases, Genesis is known for her collaborations with Father, ABRA, JPEGMAFIA, Charli XCX, and Rilès.
