Charles Thomas Johnston (born August 15, 1948) is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter from Visalia, California. He is best known as a founder, guitarist, and lead vocalist for The Doobie Brothers. Johnston was a member of The Doobie Brothers from 1970 to 1977 and 1987 to present. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Doobie Brothers in 2020.
