Tim RIce (1944-) is an English lyricist, known for his work in the musical theater and film. His shows include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Beauty and the Beast, and Aida. He is also for providing the lyrics of Disney films Aladdin and The Lion King.
In 2018, he, longtime collaborator Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Legend, and became the 13th, 14th, and 15th EGOTS when they won the Emmy for Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. To add to his EGOT status, he’s also won five Grammys, three Oscars (for the songs “A Whole New World”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, and “You Must Love Me”, and three Tonys.
