Theaudience were a short lived British band formed in 1996 by Billy Reeves, “Patch” Hannan (ex Sundays), Nigel Butler, Dean Mollett, Kerin Smith and fronted by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

In 1998 the band released their first and only album, theaudience. The following year guitarist Billy Reeves left the band. Months after his departure the remaining members recorded a new album but Mercury Records decided to drop the band.

In 2000 Sophie Ellis-Bextor started a successful solo carrer after the band split.

In 2009 the tracks for the unreleased album were leaked on the internet, the album was named Quiet Storm.
