About The Weather Girls

The Weather Girls is a female American duo of Martha Wash and Izora Armstead as his most well-known line-up. The Weather girls members launched their musical career in 1976 in San Francisco, California as the Sylvester disco-female singer’s backup duet, Two Tons O' Fun. In 1979 the duo signed Fantasy Records after years of modest success with Sylvester’s history. Following the release of “It’s Raining Men” (1982), the Weather Girls became their first number-one dance hit, a successful recognition.

Despite critical and commercial success, the duo struggled to repeat the success of “It’s Raining Men” and ultimately disbanded after the release of their self-titled fifth album The Weather Girls in 1988.
