About The Urinals

The Urinals are a punk rock band from Southern California, first formed in 1978 at UCLA. Although briefly a five piece parody punk band, the lineup soon was reduced to a trio of Kevin Barrett, Kjehl Johansen, and John Talley-Jones. The band performs most commonly with this lineup.

The Urinals are known largely for their aggressive (but lo-fi) punk sound, agitprop performances, and minimalist approach to songwriting. The band is often credited with developing the “punk haiku”. Thus, nearly all their songs are under three minutes, with many clocking in under two minutes.
