THE SIXTH LIE is a four member Japanese electronic rock band formed on May 30th of 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to the band’s formation, two of its members – founders Reiji and Ray had met online – and the band had originally had different members before they made their indie debut.

By the time the band made their major label debut in 2016 with the EP INTEGRAL, the band consisted of Reiji (guitarist, programmer and composer), Ray (drummer and video director), Arata (vocalist), and Hiroto (tri bassist and bassist). However, after spending two years with the band, Hiroto, would leave in 2018 in order to pursue other things. He was quickly replaced by Ryusei.

In 2018, they would gain international attention, when they provided the theme song to the animated series ゴールデンカムイ (Golden Kamuy), with the song “Hibana”. They would also provide another theme song for the series two years later, titled “融雪 (Yuusetsu)”. Besides ゴールデンカムイ (Golden Kamuy), they would also provide the theme song for the anime とある魔術の禁書目録【アクセラレータ】(A Certain Scientific Accelerator) with the song “Shadow is the Light”.

The band members each have a hand in creating their content, as, in particular, members Reiji and Arata take charge of writing and composing their music, while member Ray is in charge of directing as well as the visual effects.
