The band fated to be remembered for the theme song from Friends, “I’ll Be There for You”, was created in 1989 when music-industry veterans Danny Wilde (formerly of The Quick, Great Buildings and a solo career) and Phil Solem (formerly of Great Buildings) recorded their self-titled album in Wilde’s home. The duo split in 1997 but have periodically reunited to write new songs and produce for other artists.
