Arguably the fathers of modern electronic music, The Prodigy (fronted by producer Liam Howlett, accompanied by vocalists Keith “Maxim” Palmer and Keith Flint) rose to prominence in the 90s and have stayed at the top ever since.
You’re most likely to have heard the classics “Firestarter” and “Smack My Bitch Up”, or the more recent “Omen” and “Warrior’s Dance”.
As Flint was found dead inside his home in Great Dunmow, Essex at 49 on March 4, 2019, apparently after he had taken his own life during the previous weekend, The Prodigy and electronic music have lost one of his most original symbols, as he played a crucial role in the band as vocalist of so many songs, like “Firestarter” (which had represented his outstanding debut in the group) and “Breathe”, as well as a flamboyant performer and dancer on live shows. In more recent years, Howlett and Maxim kept honouring Flint during their concerts.
