About The Long Faces

The Long Faces first developed a love for writing music in Canterbury, soaking up the city’s heritage of progressive rock, along with contemporary jazz and choral music. They released a string of singles between 2017-18 whilst studying in the city, which over time have attracted a large online following that reaches from the UK to all corners of the world.

After the release of their debut EP in 2020, the group’s direction took a key turn, with Harry Shapiro joining as a new member on bass, and Halden Cooke trading lead guitar for violin. These changes in setup gave rise to a darker, more cinematic sound, and a focus on developing refined instrumental arrangements with minimal use of production effects. Their upcoming single ‘Eisenhower’, releasing on the 14th April 2023, is the opening statement of this new direction.

The Long Faces are Tom Lane, Duy Phimasset, Halden Cooke, Harry Shapiro and Dan Ball.
