About The Gaylads

The Gaylads are a Jamaican vocal group. They were one of the top rocksteady vocal groups active in Jamaica between 1963 and 1973.
The group was formed around 1964 when Winson Delano Stewart & B.B. Seaton met Maurice Roberts. Around 1970 Delano Stewart left the band for a solo career, replaced by Ricky Grant, who will be himself replaced by Howard Barrett for some titles. The band finished as a duo until 1972 when BB also left for a solo career.
At the end of the 1970’s, BB and Maurice Roberts reformed the band with Randall Thaxter and Hopeton Thaxter under the name of the Righteous Foundation and then The Psalms.
