The Favors are a four-piece, American band consisting of Ashe (vocals), FINNEAS (vocals/keyboards), marinelli (drums), and Ricky Gourmet (guitars). All four members are from California, USA; however, Ashe now resides in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ashe and FINNEAS first worked together in 2018 when they co-wrote Ashe’s song, “Wrong Side of Myself”. The following year, they then collaborated on on two of Ashe’s EPs, Moral of the Story: Chapter 1 and Moral of the Story: Chapter 2. The pair finally released their first duet, “Till Forever Falls Apart”, two years later, on March 2, 2021. In 2024, FINNEAS collaborated with marinelli and Ricky Gourmet on his sophomore album, For Cryin' Out Loud!. However, The Favors is the first time that all four members have worked on a project together.

When discussing the formation of the band with Rolling Stone, Ashe recalled:

I texted FINNEAS [from my living room in Nashville] and asked if we should try it out and he responded, “This solves all my problems”, which is the cutest possible thing he could’ve said.

FINNEAS added:

Never said, “Yes”, faster in my life.

The band was first teased during Ashe’s 2024 Zach Sang Show interview, when she revealed:

I’ve started a side band/project that’s separate from Ashe.

Then, on February 4, 2025, The Favors created a band Instagram profile called @weshouldmakeaband and began teasing multiple now-deleted snippets. Almost four months later, on June 2, 2025, the band name was finally revealed when their Instagram handle was changed to @wearethefavors.

Ashe spoke about the origin of the band name in a Substack post:

We sorted what our name would be within the first week of the idea. We wanted it to feel like it had always existed. I liked The Ballet. “We’re going to see The Ballet tonight.” Someone had already taken it. Finn suggested The Favors. I loved it. And I loved the symbolism: there are the favors you’ll only do for your closest friends.

The Favors released their debut single, “The Little Mess You Made”, on June 6, 2025, and their debut album, The Dream, on September 19, 2025.
