The Effex (born LaDarius Martin) is a songwriter and a producer from Dallas, Texas who found music as his passion at a very young age from heavy influences such as Canada’s top artists Drake and The Weeknd, and also from Chris Brown, Trey Songz and Justin Timberlake.

Before recording music, The Effex would spend nights writing, playing guitar and piano while composing his music in silence. He released his first project, The Wait EP in 2016 and a second project The Sweet 16 EP subsequently in 2017.

He has affiliated with other artists and became a member of Feel The Music Production (FTMP) and released two tracks together “Official” and “One of a Kind". He is currently unsigned.
