About The Brand New Heavies

The Brand New Heavies are an acid jazz/funk band that came to prominence in the early 90’s with hits like “Never Stop” and “Sometimes” featuring Q-Tip.

The band members have primarily consisted of drummer Jan Kincaid, bassist Andrew Levy, guitarist Simon Bartholomew, and lead vocalist N'Dea Davenport. However, though Davenport was their most prominent and often returning lead vocalist, the band made a practice of rotating lead vocalists between albums. Other vocalists have included Siedah Garrett, Sy Smith, Carleen Anderson, Nicole Russo, and as of 2017, Dawn Joseph.
