The Bilinda Butchers are a dream pop and shoegaze group located in San Francisco, California. They consist of Michal Kepsky (Vocals and Guitar), Adam Honingford (Guitar), Lukas Untersteiner (Bass) and Brock Lowry (Drums).
Formed in 2007 by schoolmates Michal Kepsky and Adam Honingford, the Bilinda Butchers take their name from My Bloody Valentine vocalist, guitarist and inspiration; Bilinda Butcher. They released their debut EP “Away Demos” on January 1st, 2008.
Around 2009 Ryan Wansley joined the group to be their drummer, as they were looking for one and Michal’s roommate recommended him. Despite having different groups of friends Ryan joined.
On June 21st, 2011 they released their next EP, “regret, love, guilt, dreams”. Followed by the “goodbyes” EP on August 28th, 2012. In the same year Lukas Untersteiner started working with the band, but didn’t become their bassist until later. Their debut album, “Heaven” was released on July 15th, 2014.
In 2016 Ryan Wansley left the band for unknown reasons, but was replaced by Brock Lowry who became the new drummer.
In 2020 band released new singles “See Ya”, “Rie” and “Night and Blur” with additional b-sides. Their second album called “Night and Blur” was released on 8th May.
