The Atomix often stylized as AMG
(Atomix Music Group) is a production duo from PG County, Maryland.
The Atomix was founded and organized by music producers Carlos “TheRealChinoo” Young and TaVon “TayDaProducer” Washington back in 2014 while they attended Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.
The Duo originally started out as keyboardist in a Washington DC based GoGo band, where they tapped into their musical collaborations and began making beats together.
Their introduction to the music industry was initially linked to buzzing Orlando artist, Derrick Milano, whom is now a Grammy Award Winning songwriter. Derrick released an Atomix Produced record entitled “Nasty Jawn” featuring Fetty Wap. A later Kodak Black & Derrick Milano record “My Time”, also Produced by The Atomix was leaked soon after.
Chinoo went on to graduate college in 2015, Tay soon following in 2016 where they went on to move to Atlanta, Ga. In mid 2017, Chinoo began working as an engineer for Atlantic Records and DJ Drama & Don Cannon’s Generation Now label imprint. It was there that The Atomix met Huntington Beach artist, Yung Pinch.
The Atomix & Yung Pinch went on to collaborate on a multitude of singles and projects.
The duo was soon tapped by Songbook’s Troy Taylor – known for breaking Trey Songz- who actually linked Tay over social media. They went on to build on a working relationship, with production on legendary R&B Group, Dru Hill, on their project ‘Christmas in Baltimore’.
In late 2018, artist A Boogie Wit da Hoodie linked with The Atomix in Atlanta originally only to have Chinoo record a few records for Artist. That combo turned true with A Boogie getting on production from The Atomix which appeared on his December 2018 release, Hoodie SZN, his sophomore studio album, which topped the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
The Atomix have went on to collaborate with the likes of Rico Nasty, DreamDoll, Saint Jhn, Taleban Dooda, Kap G, Shoreline Mafia, No Cap , & more in regards to music production and engineering.
The duo has been able to produce records that have landed in movies and shows such as Fast 9 Mixtape, Netflix, and most recently Nick Cannon’s ‘Miracles Across 125th Street’.
In 2021, The Atomix most notably worked with Don Q on his album ‘Double or Nothing’ and buzzing New York drill artist Dusty Locane on his album ‘Untamed’.
