Terry Miles is a Vancouver-based producer, director and writer. Musically, Miles is known for his role as writer and lead vocalist in band, Ashley Park.
He is most famous for his work on The Black Tapes Podcast (2015) with Paul Bae. Miles serves as writer, producer, editor, composer and guest actor (in the role of Nic Silver) on the show. He is the sole writer of the show’s sister podcasts, Tanis – in which Miles voices the host, Nic Silver – and Rabbits.
Miles discussed the messages behind his podcasts in an interview with the Vancouver Sun:
The shows are telling increasingly complex stories. But Bae and Miles say a core theme remains: The lack of true mystery in an Internet age where so much information is easily available online, and how people can ultimately twist all that information to confirm their biases while losing sight of the truth.
“That’s always been my most passionate leaning into The Black Tapes, and I think Tanis was born out of my desire to solve that mystery, of course, but (also) to explore that exact idea further… I’ve always been a conspiracy nerd guy."
