Terrence McNally (born November 3, 1938) is an American playwright, librettist, and screenwriter. He studied at the Columbia University as a journalism major and gained membership into the Phi Beta Kappa Society – the oldest academic honor society in the USA soon after the graduation. His first play, And Things That Go Bump in the Night, was a big fail. Later he received the acclaim of masses thanks to his plays Next, Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone? and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. His works also include Kiss of the Spider Woman, Corpus Christi, etc.
