About Ted Turner

David Alan “Ted” Turner (born 2 August 1950) is an English guitarist and vocalist best known for his work with the 1970s rock band Wishbone Ash, in which he was famed for his twin lead guitar instrumental arrangements with Andy Powell. Turner also contributed lap steel guitar to a variety of Wishbone Ash recordings.

Before joining Wishbone Ash in 1969, Turner played with the Birmingham band, King Biscuit. He left Wishbone Ash after their fourth album, Wishbone Four in 1974.

He rejoined the band in 1987 for the album Nouveau Calls, which would be conceived as one of the first releases of the new Miles Copeland III’s instrumental record label, No Speak. He departed once again with the band in 1994, when he lost his son who was killed by a drunk driver in Arizona.

He married Majella in 2014, and they released their first musical collaboration, Better Together, in 2018, receiving international acclaim.
